As always, this place is amazing. The dimsum is always good. A bit on the price side, but the service is great, along with the food!!

If you plan to come here on the weekend, I would recommend calling ahead of time to make reservations. There is always a wait and a long time. There is plenty of parking around so that isnt an issue at all.

Kirin is one of those staple dim sum restaurants in Richmond/Vancouver that's always packed. Don't even think about just walking in, you MUST have a reservation if you want to eat lunch at a normal time.

I recently dined here with my family for the first time in a few years and not much has changed. It's still slammed and the food quality is still great.

My bf's family and I made a reservation at 10am on a Monday morning (they time they open). When we came at around 9:55am there was so many people waiting at the door. Nonetheless there is a ton of space in the restaurant.

You can park upstairs in the parking garage for free. Just be sure to write down your license plat and parking spot number when you enter the restaurant. As soon as you walk in, you can see large crabs, fish, and liquor bottles on display. Service was excellent and very quick.

    We ordered the following:
    Sparerib Steamed with Taro Root
Steamed Chinese Donut Rice Roll Topped with Sesame Seed
    Steamed Prawn Dumplings
    Beef Rice Roll
    Shrimp Rice Roll
Steamed Shrimp, Pork and Mushroom Dumplings (Siu Mai)
    Pan-Fried Noodles with Vegetables

Favorites include Steamed Prawn Dumplings, Siu Mai, and the Sparerib Steamed Taro Root. I was very impressed with the dumpling sizes and portion size of each meal. The dumplings were HUGE. I however didn't like the Donut Rice Roll and Beef Rice Roll.

Overall, Kirin is great spot for your large dumping fix!

First time we wanted to come here we were told they had no openings for walk in till after 2:30pm on a Saturday and it was a somewhat direct slightly insincere thank you bu-bye!

Folks this is a busy dim sum restaurant in the heavily populated downtown area of Richmond. It's also a huge cavernous restaurant. They specialize in quality and pump out high volume here. It's not trolley cart dim sum. It's order off the menu and the servers hustle to bring you fresh impressive dim sum.

When you enter they ask what kind of tea do you want? Jasmine, Ioolong? Chrysanthemum? This is a staple for dim sum. Actually it's funny as my brother and I are usually some of the only ones that ask for ice water with dim sum. That's how they know we are gwai lo. If you are in Hong Kong and ask for water they bring you boiling hot water. It's a white person thing. I'm fine with it.

    Back to the Dim sum:

We ordered some of my faves. Har gow, siu mai, sticky rice m, shrimp rice rolls + some gai lan with oyster sauce. All was very fresh and delicious. They do offer up a very nice red chilli oil sauce (not very spicy). Everything was noticeably fresh and of high quality. Folks I have yet to find this quality of dim sum in my hometown of Montreal. Its really that good!

You can make reservations. Highly recommended on a weekend as It's full of families!

Service is quick and efficient. They want you to enjoy and in and out quick! Lol that's how dim sum restos operate!

The wait time is RIDICULOUS for sure (even on a Monday morning!!) but the food was so good and reasonably priced. Their chili oil was amazing and one of the best chili oils I've ever had.
